I had the wonderful privilege of photographing this simple yet elegant backyard bridal shower today in Porter Ranch. It was not only pretty, it was a great party! Compliments to Michelle who organized everything and congrats to Jessica the bride :) Here’s a little sneak peak of the decorating ideas.

It was not only a beautiful garden party, it was brimming with the sent of star jasmine lining the walls.

How about a heart shaped pinata for a bridal shower? Everyone had a blast and along with confetti and candy there were mini bottles of liquor. Now that's a bridal shower!
I’m very happy to present this beautiful Los Angeles family, Danielle and Jacob. They are settling into parenthood with such ease. I am so impressed by Danielle’s calm and peace when handling her beautiful new baby boy. And Jacob is a glowing proud Papa no doubt having dreams of a little basketball player dancing in his head. :-p When Danielle called me about a maternity session she didn’t realize what a little kick in the butt it was for me. After my last miscarriage in December (last of 5) I was discouraged and questioning my current choice of profession. However she insisted on a session at the beach and I (somewhat reluctantly) agreed. But it was very good for me. Photographing at the beach is always good for my soul. Motherhood to me is the most beautiful thing. And seeing a young couple full of anticipation and joy and translating that into a photograph is truly satisfying. Thanks for the kick in the butt and I look forward to the coming year photographing your beautifully perfect little boy.
It’s so important to display your family portraits. It’s so easy to let digital files just sit on a tiny hard drive – volatile Ones and Zero’s – that don’t mean much after they are lost. When my clients meet with me I am consulting with them on design and decor for their home. And guess what? Installation is included! Yup! I’m climbing all over your couch to make sure the frames hang straight! I even earthquake proof them! Check out this recent installation.
And the little star of the show just had to get in on the action! :-)
Here’s just a couple images from little eleven day old Bella. I was able to find this great blue ruffle wrap and skinny vintage white rose headband from Etsy shop Oops I Knit it Again
okay, just kidding… But I have been quite absent from my work life and I’m getting back into the swing of things. I was actually preparing to take time off December and January and yes, I did, but it didn’t turn out the way I planned… I was going to get caught up on work at my leisure while I tentatively planned out the next few months while I focus on being pregnant. Well, I didn’t get caught up on work and I didn’t stay pregnant. This is something we have been dealing with for the last two and half years. To put it briefly, we have experienced 5 miscarriages. It is what doctors like to call secondary infertility. Which is weird because I never thought I was “infertile” because we are able to get pregnant, just not stay pregnant. But I began talking about my experience on { another blog } if you care for more details. But THIS blog is all about pretty pictures and so…. are you ready for this little ditty?…
Hope that makes you smile. :-)
So while you enjoy that little ditty I’ll just share a few images I have been working on lately. I’ve decided that this is the year of just plain ‘ol pretty pictures. I’m shooting for myself, experimenting with new mediums and delving into my own style. I’m still healing and this is how I decided to take the pressure off of myself instead of killing myself with marketing strategies. I’ll let you know how that goes ;-)
