Kids will be kids, boys will be boys…
I just read this awsome blog entry by a mom commenting to a well intentioned shopper who tried to calm her fussy child. http://momminitup.com/?p=853
Being a mom with a 1 1/2 year old boy who doesn’t like to sit still I can totally relate.
I just had an experience in which someone decided to counsel me on how to control my noisy boy. I would love to rant on just how on so many levels it was just so wrong to say those things… BUT! my blog is fun and not serious so I will just say this: Toddlers are eager to explore the world around them. They don’t like to be confined into shopping carts or seats in which they have to be quiet. They haven’t yet learned the concept of when it’s time whisper “Hop Pop” instead of exclaim “HOP POP” when thumbing through Dr. Suess or whisper when they’re excited to see Dad instead of proclaim out loud “Daddy!” at inapropriate times. But in time they will learn. Each month they are changing and each month they are growing farther and farther away from babyhood and into childhood. Don’t rush it! We parents are struggeling to be consistant and train our children at every oportunity. So don’t discourage a parent who’s doing their best.
