Just look at this beautiful family. I was so grateful to be welcomed into their home and be invited into their life for a few hours. When it comes to newborns I prefer to shoot in the home if at all possible. It’s more comfortable for the mother and baby and makes for a relaxed session. And if you’re thinking, my home won’t look good for pictures, there is ALWAYS a place! My mobile studio is equipped with lighting so there is never a bad location.
Getting images with their three year old son was important as well. When he had enough of being photographed we took a little break and I followed him around while he played with his toys. That’s when I was able to get this precious candid of him curled up in his chair.
Their baby girl was 4 weeks old when we shot the session. She was already getting quite alert so we photographed more expression and relationship type of poses. This one of big brother leaning down to kiss his little sister was the most precious! Don’t you think?
How did they use their images? A Wall Collage! This was their first time finally having family photos in their home. This display is prominent in the family room. They chose to use frameless standouts for a sleek modern feel. I get so excited to see the final product on the wall. The photo session is not done until there is a final product to be proud of.
I just love photographing at the beach so much! No matter how crazy I feel; when my feet hit the sand then smell the salty air I just relax. Even while I’m tripping over a million rocks during low tide, I don’t mind. Even when my capri pants get soaking wet, I don’t care. Even when I come home cold and sandy from wet jeans, I don’t care. I am quite partial to this beautiful family. I love them so much. They deserve to be on the cover of coffee table book.
When I’m shooting at the beach I need to keep it really simply. I try not to change lenses or bring too much gear. I shot this session using a Canon 1v body and 24-70 lens, a backpack and flip flops 🙂 Photographed on Kodak Portra 400 film and processed at Richard Photo Lab.
I had a lot of fun working with Alex. We coordinated several looks, including a few with her pet rats. She is building her portfolio and recently got a call back from an agency. I look forward to seeing more of her!
I’m proud to say I have been able to photograph this family for several years and watch them grow into a family of 6! With such beautiful and sweet children they are a privilege to photograph. I look forward to watching them grow!
I was so happy to be able to photograph this family. I was there with this couple for their engagement party and now for their first child. He is a precious boy. This maternity and newborn session was photographed at their home. I try very hard to do newborn session in the home. I’m looking to make the family and baby comfortable and hopefully capture special moments that are not posed. The newborn stage goes so quick, it is so important to me to make sure to document all that is special and fleeting about a new baby.
Both sessions were photographed on Kodak Portra 400 film.
Alex and Brenda’s wedding was so special. They are such a down to earth couple who truly shared a special day with their beloved friends. The ceremony was beautiful and lovely tears were shed. I was glad to be back at the Sportsmen’s Lodge since they’ve updated a few things. So glad I could be apart of their beautiful day.
This beach engagement session came together so nice. She had visions of a flowy white dress and getting dirty in the sand. I’m always happy to be at the beach anytime of year and I just feel like a slow down and breath when I get there. This is one of my favorite beaches. Aren’t they just an adorable couple?
So excited to release a few wedding images for Brenda and Hector. The wedding venue was beautifully decorated and just perfect for the two of them and their closest loved family and friends. It will be a most memorable wedding for everyone. Likely because it was unusually burning hot that day in October! HA! The Moorpark Country Club did a beautiful job. Love that place. And I was so excited to hear their wedding cake was from Nothing Bunt Cakes soooo good! hehe…
This adorable couple made their engagement session a joy to shoot. After the rush of life and work they were eager to just relax together and that’s just what we did for their engagement session. We popped open a bottle of wine and had fun! HA! Don’t you just love the cowboy boots?
Headshots for the IT Consulting group AllConnected took us all over their office space in order to create individual headshots, team groups as well as exterior shots. Of course the AllConnected car is a common site driving around LA and Ventura County and we had to include those. Despite some uncommon rain that day it made for a fun shoot.
